Leyte Landing Anniversary Ceremony
Carson, California 
Sunday, October 20, 2019

 

All Deadeyes and their families and friends are invited to attend a ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of the landing in Leyte. This ceremony is an excellent way to remember and honor those who served in World War II and to thank them for their service. The event in California is free and open to the public. The day's events will begin at 7:00 AM, and will be held at the Community Center in the City of Carson.

Leyte Landing and Return to Philippines Anniversary Ceremony
Los Angeles, California 
Saturday, October 12, 2019

 

All Deadeyes and their families and friends are invited to attend a ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of the landing in Leyte and the return to the Philippines. This ceremony is an excellent way to remember and honor those who served in World War II and to thank them for their service. The event in California is free and open to the public. The day's events will begin at 1:00 PM, and will be held at the Bob Hope Patriotic Hall in Los Angeles.

IU Southeast Concert Band Performance
New Albany, Indiana 
Friday, November 15, 2019

 

Mr. David Neville has written a special musical composition which he has dedicated to the 96th Infantry Division Deadeyes. All Deadeye veterans and their families and friends are invited to attend the premier performance of this special piece. The event in New Albany, Indiana (across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky) will begin at 7:30 PM, and will be held in the Richard K. Stem Auditorium/Concert Hall inside the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center at Indiana University Southeast.

Founders Day Weekend
Adair Village, Oregon 
August 16 - 18, 2019

 

This year, 2019, marks the 75th anniversary of the closing of the Oregon army post (Camp Adair) that opened in 1942, and also the 50th anniversary of the closing of the air station (Adair Air Force Station) that occupied the site beginning in 1957. The 96th Infantry Division Deadeyes trained at the Camp Adair facilities. The Adair Living History organization invites all to come to where the Deadeye story began. You are invited to participate in the celebration and memorial activities on Friday, August 16, 2019 through Sunday, August 18, 2019, being held in conjunction with the City of Adair Village Founders Day Celebration. Adair Village is located 8 miles north of Corvallis, Oregon and 75 miles south of Portland, Oregon.
